Balancing, vibration analysis and alignment services
In our shop or at your site — 24-hour emergency service for anything that rotates.
Hamdon Industries provides the full cycle of vibration work: diagnose the problem, correct it by balancing or alignment, and verify the result. Most customers start with a phone call describing the symptom. We’ll tell you whether the job belongs in our shop or at your site.
Vibration analysis
We measure vibration at the bearings, break it into a frequency spectrum and identify the fault behind it — unbalance, misalignment, looseness, bent shafts, bearing defects, resonance and more. Use it to troubleshoot a problem machine, accept new equipment, or confirm a repair.
Dynamic & static balancing
Single-plane (static) and two-plane (dynamic) balancing on our machines, for parts from one ounce to 5,000 lb and up to 30 ft long. Single pieces or production runs, balanced to your print or the appropriate ISO balance grade.
Field balancing
When removing a rotor is impractical, we balance it in place at operating speed using portable instruments and trial weights. Typical jobs include fans, blowers, cooling-tower propellers, motors and pumps.
Laser shaft alignment
Laser alignment of coupled shafts on motors, pumps, fans, gearboxes and compressors, at your plant or your customer’s facility. Includes soft-foot checks and a before-and-after report.
Predictive maintenance
Regularly scheduled vibration monitoring of your rotating machinery to establish trends and catch problems early. Programs are customized to your equipment and include prompt analysis and reporting.
High-speed balancing
For turbine and generator rotors and other long, flexible rotors that need to be balanced through their full speed range, especially after rewinds, re-blading or major repairs.
Spindle repair
Inspection, root-cause reporting, rebuild, precision balancing, assembly and run-in testing of machine tool spindles.
Spindle test & analysis stand
Pre-condition and run-in spindles at selectable speeds, check vibration compliance, and troubleshoot problems away from the noise of the shop floor.
