Our history

Hamdon Industries, Inc. was founded in 1986 by Don and Ann Platz. Don had been working in the vibration and balancing industry since 1968 and was one of the founding members of the Michigan chapter of the Vibration Institute. Over those years he built lasting relationships with customers across Michigan industry.
He started Hamdon from the ground up with a knowledgeable, dedicated staff and a clear goal: to give industry the highest level of experience, knowledge and customer service, and to pair high-quality dynamic and static balancing with vibration analysis so customers get a complete solution from one source.
What we do
We specialize in balancing and analyzing rotating equipment of every kind — from a small prototype part to a large production run. Our core services are:
- Vibration analysis and troubleshooting
- Dynamic and static balancing in our shop
- Field balancing at your facility
- Laser shaft alignment
- Predictive maintenance programs
- Machine tool spindle repair, testing and certification
How we work
Whether the job is a single part on our balancing machine or a plant-wide monitoring program, we work the same way: measure carefully, find the real cause, correct it, and verify the result. You get prompt interpretation of the data and a report with specific findings and recommendations, tailored to your equipment and your requirements.
Where we work
Our facility is at 44584 Morley Drive in Clinton Township, Michigan, in Macomb County. We work in plants throughout Metro Detroit — including Sterling Heights, Warren, Macomb, Shelby Township, Troy and Detroit — and across Michigan. When a machine needs us, we travel anywhere in the United States.
